Avon Default Help Please

Hi brand new to this site but have spent hours looking through all the avon threads (theres loads funnily enough) but still not come across the answer i'm looking for.

I'll start at the beginning...

I used to be a sales leader for avon but decided to give it up to start working full time. I paid off my last order in full and thought nothing more of it - however sales leaders have to pay for their books on the following invoice, not the current one which means I wasnt invoiced for some books untill the month after i quit - completey forgot about this and when i recieved the letter asking for the money (£58), I called them up and told them I had already paid - they said that was fine and to just discard the letter.
However, the following month, I recieved another letter and I realised something must be wrong so i called them again and requested they explain why they wanted further payments, they explained it was for the books and it all fell into place, I told them that as I didnt actually need them and still had them, I would return the books instead - they had none of it but i told them that was all i was willing to do as i refused to pay for something that they could quite happily have back.
I then recieved a letter from a collections company (not sure of the name, i think it was castle something??) demanding full payment, I realised the only way I would get them off my back was to pay them so I did.

I looked at my credit report today to see that they defaulted me :( not happy about it and at first i just thought fair enough, i didnt pay so fine.
However, examining it further, avon have made some right juicy mess ups and i'm hoping i've found some loop holes to get the default off the account.

Firstly, they didnt serve me a default notice - looking into this they claim to be exempt from s.77/78 consumer credit act 1974 as their terms of agreement state that payment is to be made in full within 21days of invoice, if this is the case, can they even be dishing out defaults to CRA's all willy nilly??

Secondly, I'm sure there must be some law somewhere that states if a consumer is able to return unused goods they should be able to do so - i do not recall avon ever telling me that books are none returnable/refunadable but correct me if i'm wrong.

Thirdly, the account defaulted in April 2012 and is 'satisfied' so why have they still been updating my credit report up untill today with '8' indications, should the account just be closed and left at the satisfied date??? why won't they leave my report alone now?? is this standard practice after a creditor defaults you??

and finally, they defaulted me on £58 on 24th April 2012 yes but there is a random amount on there in May 2012 saying i owed them £99,999,998 ?!?!?!?! no my son hasn't just sat on my keyboard it is actually recorded on my report that i owed them £10 million pounds the month after i defaulted!!! after that, the balance is £0 but is there loop hole here with the mis-entry??

Im so sorry for waffling but can avon really get away with all these mistakes?

any help appreciated.

Thanks
