Hi All
After our unfortunate experience trying to buy our first house last year which collapsed at exchange, we have now found another property. We have made and offer and had this accepted. The EA want to see us on Saturday to qualify our offer and told us to bring in an AIP. I applied for an AIP with the Post Office, hoping it would be straightforward (last time we used natwest and had no problems) but after submitting the application for an AIP it say's our application has been sent directly to the underwriter and they will get back to me end of working day tomorrow.
Is this normal? Will it have any adverse affect on our credit file? I am now panicking incase i have messed things up when coming to a full application for a mortagage after the weekend
Thanks in advance for any help

There's something they want a human being to decide, rather than the machine.
Plenty of AIPs get referred. I had one for 58% to Coventry BS referred last week. It took them over 24 hours to approve it.
Adverse effect on your credit file? How? All that is recorded is a search. That's it.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks for the reassurance Kingstreet,i wasn't aware that it was normal for AIPs to get referred, i thought it was only your full mortgage application (as I said we are FTBs and very new to the whole mortgage process, last time we had a straightforward process with natwest)
