Help with a letter of application

Hi I'm applying for an admin job in a school. I have completed the application form, various other forms and done a tailored CV (all of these are requested!). I now have to do a letter of application and I've got no idea what to put in it as all the information they need is in the application form and CV. Any suggestions? Thank you.

In the advert for the job does it have skills that you require? Then in the letter of application you demonstrate that you have these skills and expand on how you utilise those in your current position (hope that makes sense!). It's also a chance to explain why you think you'd be an ideal candidate for the job too.
I would recommend typing it and putting see enclosed letter in the box where you can write your letter of application as it's far easier too read.

This where the problem arises. There is a bit within the application form that covers experience, skills and competencies etc so I would be repeating myself. Its actually my old school so I think I might write something like how good it would be to work in my old school that I have such fond memories of (this is true!) and how good it would be to now be employed there and to be able to serve my local community.

I've been doing this application since 8.45 this morning and I think my brain is starting to go!

Instead of repeating yourself, can you put other examples in of things that you think may be relevant or useful to the job. Definitely say that's it your old school and you'd like to help the community. Maybe look at their website and see if they have any awards/good Ofsted report so you can mention those in your letter.
Use the letter to tell them more about yourself and your skills and to sell yourself.
