A Friend In Need...

My friend has just called me in floods of tears regarding Wonga.

She has taken out a loan and has paid it back, but they keep calling her regarding more money to lend.

A few questions:

Can they do this?, to me its like putting a carrot in front of the donkey!

also will it affect her credit rating if she has paid it off on time (i think she paid the day before it was due)

I think the credit rating is the thing that's upsetting her the most than them calling her.

any help would be great guys, i just want to make sure she's going to be okay!

btw i have never had a pdl (never will) so i have no idea how these things work!

She can write to wonga and tell them to remove her phone numbers from their records.

in the short-term, see iff she can download an app that records incoming calls, then tell the muppet on the other end that she is recoding the call. s/he will ring off fast but if they are stupid enough to offer more loans on record, then she needs to make a formal complaint to the OFT who have just given PD laon companies 12 weeks to shape up or lose their licences.

if she has paid off her loan entirely tell her to block their number. they are just touting for more business like the vultures they are.

Some lenders will look upon PDLs in a negative light if she applies for a mortgage or other credit so in that respect, it will affect her credit rating.
