Private Ambulance - where to get best deal

Hi All,

I'm going to have spinal surgery in June (I'm remortgaging my house to pay for it!). The consultant has said I will be able to leave a day or 2 early - to save costs - if I arrange a private ambulance to take me to my mother's, where I'll be recovering.

Does anyone have any knowledge on where you can get good deals/cheapest providers around? I've started searching via google, but looks as if it'll be a long process contacting lots of individual companies (amazing how many there are out there!), so any suggestions gratefully received.

I volunteer for St John Ambulance and I think some local areas offer Private Ambulance services, as a charity they will probably be very competitively priced - http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/what-we-do/transport-services.aspx or 08700 10 49 50. Good luck with your surgery
