Does anyone have any comments, good or bad, on them please?
I am looking at ways of transporting 1 or 2 children plus dog and kit around a reasonally hilly city, so potentially looking at electric powered ones to get me up the hills.
Thank you.
Axx

Which city is it?
What size is the dog and children?
Do you have a budget?
I have a Kona Ute, which I use for two children and kit. It's not that hilly around here though. No dog either.
What kind of journeys do you want to use it for?0 -
One of these may fit the requirement, As they are built to order, you could add to the spec, electric boost.

Thank you - we are in Exeter with a small dog so not much extra weight.
I am looking for something that will help me replace bus trips, so never really more than 2 or 3 miles across the city each way for school run, shopping, play groups etc.
I have seen quite a few online - been looking into them for a couple of weeks, but I can't decide if they are practical to use most days to replace walking/bus rides.0 -
I'm not sure how steep it is round there. But 2 miles is not far. I always use my bike for 2 or 3 miles with kids. I use it every day.
I got mine off ebay.
Here's a similar bike:

I find it eminently practical personally.0 -
Thanks - pretty steep, steep enough that I wouldn't ride my normal bike up them, let alone a bike with all the kit I am thinking of.
In reality, I have to find a way to get up this hill, else I won't use the bike anywhere near as much as I will need to to justify the cost.
I suppose what I am trying to find out is if the electric ones are actually worth it, not just a flash in the pan as I can carry on relying on buses if necessary.

Still me but I logged in with facebook and seem to have created a new account.0 -
I have a babboe big

I love it, except for the fact I live on a very steep hill that I have to push it up. You are right to consider electric - I would if I were buying again.
On the plus side, it can fit my 2 small boys plus a trolley load of shopping, I like having the lads in front of me and most drivers give me lots of room - but I wish I'd gone electric, tbh

Dear Arabella,
To be honest, we even threw out our second car! I use the cargobike everyday. after bringing the kids to school I do my groceries! I am a happy owner of an electric Babboe cargo bike. I have no idea how steep the hill is. But when u even need to walk next to your "normal" bike to pass it u definitely have to do the same with an cargo bike (even when its electric). U should visit their youtube channel (youtube.com/user/babboebakfiets) and click on the Babboe Big instruction movie or for the two-wheel cargobike the Babboe City Instruction movie.0
