Mortgage Protection Plan

Options
Hi,

I am after some advice regarding a multi purpose equity plan for mortgage protection that my partner and I took out in 1996.
It was taken out seperately from the mortgage, with GAN (now ReAssure).
We had forgotten about the protection plan until recently and wondered if anyone knew whether we could reclaim the money that we have paid to it, as I don't beleive it is covered under the Consumer Credit Act? It is paid via a direct debit on a monthly basis.

Thank you.

:D

Rather like claiming life assurance premiums back due to the fact you are still alive at the end of the policy term. ;)

    What grounds?
  • I think it would fall into the bracket that we were sold it regardless of whether we needed it or not.
    Much like PPI

So what is unsuitable about it?

You've not given any information about what the plan is, what it covers, why it was sold, why it was bought, why it was wrong for you.

So as it stands, nobody's going to be writing a cheque to you.
