David Lloyd debt collector advice on CREDIT SCORE

I have got an outstanding debt for David Lloyd leisure which is being pursued by ARC europe(i think)
I have told David Lloyd I will not pay it because I was in hospital and although in my initial contract it was a 3 month period I did cancel before the end of the 3rd month so what I am being chased for is unused time in the gym due to injury.
My basic question is does this sort of debt affect my credit history in anyway and can they take items from my home to pay this debt.
Thanks in advance

default = low credit for 6 years, high rate mortgageDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

It's worth keeping an eye on your credit file but I have not seen David Lloyd or ARC on people's credit reports (and I see a lot) so the answer to the first part is 'probably not but check anyway'
On the second question, bailiffs can only be appointed on a defaulted court judgement. So a lot of stages yet.0 -
