update from pinecone

Options
Dear Panelist,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new incentive plan to provide additional flexibility for your payment redemption. Soon you will start receiving points for each survey you complete. The points can be redeemed for a voucher or for items from our website. The value of the points will be equivalent to what you currently receive in vouchers. If you are currently paid through PayPal you can continue to do so through this payment option.

With this change, you will have the option to redeem your points for merchandise after completion of one study or to save the points to redeem a larger item from the website. If you choose the payment option, you are able to do the same. You can redeem your voucher after one survey or you can accumulate points over a period of time and redeem them for a larger voucher at a later time.

We are happy to be able to add options to your rewards experience. You will receive an email confirmation in the near future to confirm when the transition is complete.

Thank you for your continued interest in our panel and we look forward to being able to include you in future surveys.
Have a great day!

Thats new and interesting. I think i like the lunch vouchers though!! Also pinecone surveys are only 1 or 2 a month so it may take a while if you want to build a larger balance.
  • Sounds interesting, although I agree it will take a while to build up a 'pot' as like you I find my invites to complete Pinecone surveys are few and far between.

Always went for the luncheon voucher payment option but so few places I go to tend to accept them nowadays in the backwater in which I live and shop. Most of the places like MacDonalds etc are franchises( except for Burger King but I don't like their food) and have opted not to accept them. The last batch I had I used at Sainsbury's (not in the cafe as that is a franchise!) but at the checkout off my shopping bill. Not sure if they still do that though. Greggs still take them, I buy my bread from there with them occasionally, but have now opted for Paypal because at least I get some use/return out of doing the surveys.

Will check out the other rewards when more details appear.

Be careful about building up balances though...if Pinecone goes bust (albeit quite unlikely!) you could end up losing the lot!!

PayPal still seems like the best option!
  • I haven't had that update. I think I'll stick with PayPal anyway. I started off on luncheon vouchers but I've had them for months and keep forgetting to spend them; I'll have to be careful they don't expire. Cold hard cash is always good for me :)

I have not had that email. That's interesting.

I always cash my £4.00 via pay pal, like the PP said, cold hard cash is always good.

I haven't had that email from them either. I haven't had any surveys from them for a while. I thought they might have gone down the pan.

I've not had the email. Sounds a shame though as I always went for the luncheon vouchers option, as unlike PayPal there's no commission fee taken, and I can just use them on the weekly shop at Tesco/Sainsburys.

for paypal payments do we need to build a "pot" - is there a minimum amount when the co makes payment to you?

There's no commission or fees on recieving paypal from pinecone, nor these days any fee for withdrawing the money to your bank account.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

They pay £3 a survey and if you have opted for PayPal & not Luncheon Vouchers, they send you an email to say it has been paid to your PayPal account automatically at present, you don't have to do anything! (You get the whole £3 nothing is taken as fees!).

I will stick to my routine payouts per survey, if you look to accumulate and the site were to shut down all your monies would be lost, so I prefer to claim or have payouts as they are available.
