Pension helpline phonecalls.

Hi all,

I have been getting calls from an organisation called the Pension Helpline who apparently want to give me a free no obligation report on my private pension & how it is performing or could be tweaked to perform better. I remain sceptical. Has anybody had any dealings with this company ?

www dot pensionhelpline dot info

They want me to sign a document to authorise my pension company to release information regarding my pension's current value and also discharge information to them. I have stalled as it sounds distinctly dodgy to me.

Any advice or experiences?

Many thanks.
Mark

you would do well to be sceptical. No good ever comes form cold calls esp re finance.

At best they are an unregulated introduction agent. At worst, they will pass you on to unregulated scammers.

    Avoid at all costs.

There is no company with that name on the FSA register. A google search seems to indicate that is one of the many unregulated schemes offering services that it is not authorised to give (i.e. requiring FSA authorisation).

A good rule of thumb is to never act on cold calls. Especially when it comes to pensions and investments as the FSA does not allow cold calling in these areas. So, if you do get a cold call in those areas you know it is in breach of FSA regulation and/or it is scammer
