ISA or AVC question Please

Options
I have a Final Salary pension. I am looking towards retiring in 5 to 7 years @ 56 years old. If I pay into IVC's, I will be able to take out all of the money I put in (Will not be 25% of pot). I am a basic rate taxpayer (The small portion that would be 40% is paid into IVC'S)

I do not know how the IVC pot grows?

Am I better putting monies into an ISA?

Ta Simon

Hi, just checked and 75% invested in shares, 20% in Bonds and 5% Property. Fund grew 5% last year. What would you advise please?

That's a frightful performance. What alternative funds (and/or providers) are offered for the AVC?

I assume that in your top post you are saying that you will be able to take all your tax free cash from the AVC without touching the scheme pension, in which case the AVC makes sense, if the performance is competitive.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Not necessarily. There was the correction last May and a short lived correction this March. The timing of the statement may have been the wrong side of either of those which could account for 5%
