So I am hoping to make my wedding invites (about 60) and what has finialised it is that my mum found some cream A5 cards (4x pack of 20) that she picked up at some carboot for next to nothing years ago - they look like this http://www.regalcraftcards.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=420_440_446&products_id=3602
She then has given me some embossing stuff and some card in burgundy (same as my colour theme) aim for this is to emboss the date of the wedding on the coloured card so that it shows through the 3 squares
She has then given me some handmade paper that we can print all the detail on inside the card, they should go through the printer nicely.
Question is what should I put on the front of the card, I want it to be quite simple but feel it needs something in the blank space to the left of the cut out squares. I'm not really very creative and struggling but with all the freebies from my mum it will save us so much! any ideas....?

What about doing something to entwine your initials and place them strategically so as to not take away from the main detail? No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000

A simple ribbon (running top to bottom) tied in a bow or 2 burgundy cords tied in a knot (tying the knot) This stuff: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-x-Metres-Satin-Rattail-Silk-Cord-2mm-Burgundy-/260987186848?pt=UK_Crafts_JewelleryMaking_GL&hash=item3cc40c6ea0 would work perfectly.
Or you could get a custom Ink stamp made with your name/initials (or something) or find a wedding themed ink stamp that you like. I think the 3 tier cake ones would complement the 3 cut out squares on your card blanks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=wedding+cake+stamp&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=wedding+cake+rubber+stamp&_sacat=0
Or you could add a little paper rose like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/48-BURGUNDY-ROSE-BUDS-S-Mulbery-Paper-Flowers-for-wedding-miniature-/390399533893?pt=UK_Crafts_Embellishments_SM&hash=item5ae5a02345 but if you are planning to send these by post you do need to beware of adding anything that makes them thicker, as you can end up paying a fortune for non flat letters/cards!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

Yes def like the ribbon idea, and was thinking about a stamp but not sure what image to use, wedding cake seems like a really nice idea. Dont really fancy our names/initials as think with the date on there already would be a bit overly personalised, thank you so much for including the ebay links wouldn't have a clue what to look for!
Love the roses too, and like the ideas of having something 3d on the front, would have to see about postage costs, bought 100 2nd class standard stamps ages ago before the prices went up so want to be able to use those.Recently married and loving it x0 -

Hearts for the ribbons look nice, there are so many things out there that people on MSE just have a knack of finding.
