  • Wow Lighthouse in the Dark, seems like you have a great plan there.

Do you expect to have to do this multiple times to reach your goals?

I consider myself to be quite articulate so wouldn't mind creating you some articles if you have the work going? PM me if you're interested in that.

    Or, just general proof reading.

Your last post has really interested me and although i will be reading it again to fully understand your process, I think you have a great business model.

    Hope you reach your goals.
  • I'm not sure if i will do this multiple times, but the mrs is in the finacial planning sector so shes interested in setting up one of these sites in that sector.

I'm not going to count my eggs before they are laid but i suspect this will probably be quite a profitable site, the aim is probably to sell it after 8 - 12 months depending on what income its generating.

Tom im honoured but im afraid i deliberatly keep my business away from my article writers (it gives my game away on the most part).

thanks for the offer though but im going to have to say no

    I Love love love this!!

Its exactly what im working with at the moment!!!!! Im inspiried now ekkk, I have a 5 autoblogs but not from random sources but form a team of writers who basically rotate and slightly the content and I add fresh paragraphs to increase originality.

Also, kindle books provide decent income and great lead gens, dnt forget youtube aslo...

So exciting, I cant wait to read the updates!!!!

(Just a heads up re the thrid world workers and fake likes... be careful of thread police who will eat you :p)
  • When im saying third world workers im not trying to be deragative here I'm just stating that they are in a third world country.

One of my writers in the far east is a full time english teacher, she makes more money from the articles i send her to write then the government pay her to teach!

If anything I'm helping these people not abusing them, anyway thats by the by! Big multinationals by facebook fans and some of them spend a fortune on blackhat IM tricks to get ahead (but of course they are also spending a fortune on adwords so google looks the other way!)

Chai this is just my view but unless your not really after search results and just emailing or xrumor forum spamming i would leave out the content scraping its a trick which used to work back in the day but now google has over emphasised google+ to try and get people over to there social network and long unique content seems to now be the way forward.

hence why im using 2500 and 1800 word articles on my main category pages and going no lower then 400 on my third tier articles (onsite).

With all my articles i try to leverage this fact, even if i didnt make a profit could i still break even on the site if i were to sell it tommorrow. and in my eyes this is a lot easyier to do with long well written articles.

Oh i totally get the overseas worker stuff I was jusst saying be carefull as ive seen too many good threads get hijacked over things like that.

The content isnt scraped they are written by teams just like you have done but are edited in many ways 500- 800 words unless there is a video. This was just to get upto 100 pages but will now hire ppl to do articles and videos via outsourcing also. Will have a go and see where it takes me.

Not really doing the Google dance but more media buying and social media. Will also look at webinars and launch reviews....

Wanting to focus more on authority sites with expert contributors which isnt that challenging as most dont know how to do traffic which is where you add value to them.....
  • I appologise then I misunderstoodwhat you were saying.

I havnt really been involved in social media marketing recently, used to dabble in facebook ads and pages when you could make bank, but as facebook got stricter on there ads and people got ad blind to them , I moved away really. still brought 500k facebook pages from kids for £50 but nowdays far to many people are savvy to that game.

facebook used to be a gold mine and before it myspace was good for ewhoring but now the world and her aunt uses facebook and the ad regs seem to become stricter by the day its not for me though i still use them in social proofing.

I think getting expert contributers has never been easyier as there are so many skilled people looking to make a name for themselves in an industry and most will work for peanuts on the hope for making it big. Well the ones in some of the niches iv worked with in the past have

Lighthouse - so I have a good knowledge in 3 of those niche areas and probably could write some very good articles on them.

I also have some domains registered which would lend to good site names relevant to these areas.

What I am not clear on is what makes the website valuable to someone else.

For example, whilst this is not one of my niche areas but if I was to build a website on say trading, would you be looking to get visitors to read your info and then look to open a trading account with someone who then pays you a referral or would you be looking to get so many people visiting and coming back for someone else to then monetize it and pay you a fee for doing all the ground work.

Sorry if I am being a bit stupid on this but it's an area that has intrigued me but I am not sure what creates the value for selling a site etc.

I feel I have a lot of knowledge on certain subjects that could be good for building an information site and I am sure there will be ways this could build a good income. I feel the value of my site would be to sell to a SME who would like to get enquiries etc.
  • sorry mike I've been at it like a mad man since 6am and havn't stopped today so the brains a bit fuzzed!

    Right!

What makes a website valuable to someone else,

could be the domain name though it isnt usally the case

mostly its done on long term earnings so if a site has been bringing in £1000 a month for year and the traffic is organicc (aka not visitors brought by you via paid advertising) your be looking at selling it for 12x monthly revenue or more though sometimes it can go for more. I've seen sites go for 36X monthly revenue in the past with a years worth of data.

it all comes down to keeping the information about sales and having this over a sustained period of time, you can sell a 4month only site but because you havnt got the historic data to show earnings you could only sell it for 2x monthly revenue.

the value also varies on niche, and if the person feels that they can ad added value to the site! people sometimes often pay more than a site is worth if they can add value, madness but hey!

I'm not a website broker but would recommend you use one as they have the contacts who pay the highest prices! *cough* *cough* the money launderes *cough*

anyway to awnser your question you want at least some sales the broker i know wont deal with sites which arnt making less than £2k a month but its advisable not to sell untill your at least making a couple of hundred a month!
