Bouncy Castle - Insurance Needed?

We are having a bouncy castle at our wedding we have lots of children coming, i've hired one that is also ok for adults to go on as i'm sure there will be a few wanting ago! However we've just had the forms come through to sign and just about to pay for the hire upfront which they are asking and I asked what happened if something happened to the castle they said that it's our responsibility whilst we have it which is fine they said we could get event insurance but they dont do it. We have it over night and i'm sure there is very slim chance of it being stolen but it would be typical if it were or someone gets to drunk and manages to break it, I know i'm sounding paranoid but I dont want to be left with a bill the next day for god knows how much a bouncy castle costs! Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get insurance or anything I dont have a clue where to look. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi we had a bouncy castle at our street party last year and I looked it insurance and just phone my house insurers up who quoted if I remember correctly £60-£80 but that was just daytime,we did insure however with a neighbour for £50ish who we found out worked at an insurance place.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

As far as insurance is concerned, it's not so much the risk of the bouncy castle being stolen or damaged that's the issue, it's the risk of being sued by somebody who hurts themselves on said bouncy castle. Put 'bouncy castle' and 'insurance' into Google to see what's available.0

Thanks for your replies. Ide already searched google but all I could seem to find was for a years insurance rather than just the weekend. As for others getting hurt i've got that covered as could take out public liability, but i'm kinda thinking it might be more trouble than it's worth as think it will be abit of a worry hmmm.0

The bouncy castle company should have public liability insurance so that's covered.
Do you have wedding insurance? As it would be worth checking with them to see if they would cover it, or otherwise check with the venue. I suppose it depends what type of venue it is, but I know when I've organised bouncy castles for fetes in the past at our local church hall we just have to pay an extra approx £10 to cover it.0 -
ive looked in to this too and found the following where i live;
the bouncy castle company is insured for paties, wedding etc (some insurance companies dont cover castles at venues where they serve alcohol!)
So the castle is covered - PLI is in place etc.
they however suggest that we take out a accident cover out with them (its only £50 ish on top) that covers us and B&G incase the castle is damaged accidently. If its not we get the money back. if it does get damaged the money is kept and put towards repaird.
they also said that if someone gets hurt its our own responsibility to ensure everyone behaves to make sure no one gets hurt. This responsibility is taken off us if we pay for them to staff the castle, which then means responsibilty is on the staff as they are doing their health and safety etc bits.
so we are paying for staff so its safe and we can enjoy our day too!!
erg hope that helps and makes sense! lol xxx0
