RBS B2L portability

Hi,

does anyone know/experienced if is correct that an RBS B2L mortgage portable, is portable only if you sell the property, not if you re-mortgage it to another B2L lender, and port the RBS to a new B2L?

Most lenders allow simultaneous porting from b2l to b2l, nothing else. Hope this answers your question.

well I don't really need a simultaneous porting, as I got 3 months to port it on another property (already done an offer accepted).

Fact is, I was not aware at all about this "no portable if no selling"..that stops a bit my plans...hope I chatted on the customer service line with some junior...

Most porting options are based on a simultaneous sale & purchase, or at least a sale and purchase with only a short gap.

Porting from remortgage to purchase is unusual and not many lenders offer it.
