I would count myself very lucky if I was you - it is not something WU recommend doing and you have absolutely no comeback if something does go wrong.

it was either that or a bank transfer ( was commercial samples on the basis I was ordering in bulk after - which I wasnt I just wanted a cheaper than retail price for the items)

Got to be careful out there. Its hard to know what is a scam and what isn't .Thats whats great about this forum.
  • I received the travellers cheques today, so glad I did my research before taking them to the bank.
  • Wow its sad to say i have also fallen for this scam, I've received the cheques but thank god I haven't banked them or i would have been in trouble!

do i just rip them up??

I get 'mystery shopper' or 'become a mystery shopper' emails very often.
I am not a mystery shopper and no intention of becoming one so I know they are scam emails but I can see how someone who thinks they have signed up to an obscure mystery shopper site might think they are okay.
As far as I can see, the real mystery shopper sites wait for people to join them and have waiting lists. They dont need to go fishing in the big email lake to catch new followers.
The mystery shopper sections I have seen on this website have been very useful for gathering how they work and what is expected of you.

You probably will also get survey invitations sent to you from scam sites.
The surveys will be real and you will have completed a few before you realise that you dont actually have a membership of any kind with the company sending the invites.
Of course, the survey company still pays per survey and knows nothing of the scam but you get none of it ,only the company sending the invitations.
