    Never heard of it.

The stubborn stones will come off really easy if you do a sensible plan like weight watchers (no need to join you can find all you need to know, points calculations etc just by spending some time doing research on line, no faddy diet just sensible eating and portions, no foods are bad foods as long as you stick to your daily pints!).

Everyone i know who has followed this dietplan has lost weight, and at a quite rapid pace

However, as soon as they stop the plan the weight goes back on

LL give the impression that the 'counselling' you get as part of the plan is why people loose weight, but in reality it is the calorie controlled foods that you buy from them that contributes to weight loss.

As with all diets, if you dont change your eating/exercise habits for life, then the weight will go back on

Yes, LL is great for a quick fix in the short term, but dont expect it to last past the special occasion, that you wanted to loose weight for

I don't eat much at all - most days one meal, I don't have much of an appetite. But I'm mainly housebound and don't move enough, this is the problem - I can't burn it off. If I went on a diet like WW or SS then I'd have to eat more than I do already and I can't see that helping.:) Just wondered about LL as a friend went from a size 22 to a 16 on it. Ty all!

One of the reason you are not losing the weight is because you are not eating often, stimulating your body and making it work. It has become lazy and predicts the amount of food it will get so therefore works less hard.

Try eating several small meals a day and try to include all the food groups for a balanced diet.

On WW you get daily points and weekly points, you do not have to use the weekly points, so you could stick to the daily ones. By having foods that take longer to burn, it keeps you body working and you feel fuller.

These quick fix diets are just that and after you stop them you end up putting the weight back on and are even heavier/have more body fat.
You need to learn new sustainable eating habits, discarding old ways.

  • I felt compelled to reply.

I did Cambridge last year and lost 2st 9lbs quite quickly. I felt like I was 'back to being me'. Told everyone, no way will I get fat again...and guess what - I am back to exactly what i was before...and twice as fed up because I was quite vocal about not being fat again.

I have to say, it does work to get the weight off, without a doubt. If you do decide you need to be prepare for when you get to where you want to be...you need to work out what you're going to do to maintain that.

I also have to say that I have got so fed up with being fat again, I am back on Cambridge with the dual purpose of shifting some weight and finding out what foods make me bloated and yukky. I totally accept that this is not the healthiest way to lose weight, but in the last week, I have felt soooo much less bloated.

If I 'succeed' on Cambridge then I will be on here for advice (probs low carb) so I can help keep it off.

I did LL a number of years ago and lost 5 stones. It came off very steadily and i felt wonderful while doing it. I had a great class leader who was very inspiring and helped me with my 'black and white' thinking about food. Withdrawing from food also helped me get my hunger-thirst and hunger-bored issue under control, my main daemons and using food as a 'treat' giving me licence to overeat.

Like any diet its down to individuals and what they want/need from it. I was so far down the rabbit hole I needed to see quick results to spur me on and then once I 'cleaned house' by reaching my target i made the health eating changes to maintain. where as doing WW or SW didn't suit my mindset at the time as it seemed so overwhelming as i had so much to lose.

After finishing I kept the weight off for a number of years so would consider its a success.

    :D

(though i will say that i have noticed the thirsty/bored/treat mindset has slowly crept back up on me over the years to be back in full force - but that's not the fault of LL - that's wholly mine for not revisiting the tools and tips they gave me)
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...
