Hi
Does anyone have any tips to stop the marks from the wire from the ironing board showing on clothes when you iron them? Thanks.

Sounds like you need more padding on the board.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0

yep, more padding. My mum says you should never throw away an old cover, just put the new on top.0

I bought padding and a new cover from Wilkinsons a wile ago.
Not to dear. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
I tend to put an old towel on when I've bought a new ironing board, then put a cover over that.0

As long as you've got a heat proof layer on top then you can use anything for padding - my Grandma used to iron on a blanket on the kitchen table - but make sure that the padding etc is smooth ie can use several pieces if necessary but in layers from top to bottom rather than pieces along the length so that you don't get marks.0

I just keep adding new covers on top of the old, the more the better, for now you could put an old sheet folded to size underneath to give it a good layer of padding.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thank you everyone.:rotfl:0

I gave up ironing all but the very, very essential items years ago! Works for me. Ironing board lives in the outhouse and comes in about 2/3 times a year0

I'm not a big ironer either, loathe it, so keep everything as straight as possible and fold very carefully. I also confess to using the TD a fair bit too. (ducking stools at the ready girls)
I think quite a few pound shops have ironing board pads although they looked a bit thin I would imagine two of them would do the trick.0
