Hey folks,
My bike (pedal!) has been sitting unused and unloved in the garage for a couple of years, and its high time I got it out and got fit and active again.
However, there's some sort of problem with the gears/chain that's beyond me to fix. It was bought in Halfords a few years ago but I'm not sure about taking it back to them to service, ie, can I get it cheaper elsewhere?
So yes, anybody know of any professional and affordable places that service bikes in the greater Belfast area? I'm not sure whether it would be best to go for a chainstore like Halfords or Declathlon or take it somewhere local.
Any thoughts as always appreciated

Looks like he's turned himself into The Kayak Shack.
Still, got a couple of recommendations from Facebook when I posted this so all is not lost0 -

Don't go to Halfords. I made the mistake or taking in a bike that needed a new chain and brake....was told it would cost about £45...after all was changed it cost £105. A new bike would have been cheaper . They used to do a service thing, where you pay for a year and get all minor things fixed free or once costing parts. I see they do not do this now. I take bikes now to a local chap, much cheaper and tell you how it is, instead of trying to sell you something.:beer:0

There is a guy in Botanic, Belfast cycle workshop, I think. Based in Lawerence Street I think off Botanic Avenue.0

I'd recommend Carnmoney Cycles (formerly Beverly Cycles)
The Ferguson Centre, 57 Manse Rd, Newtownabbey Tel: 028 90843668
I bought a second hand bike and they gave it the once over, did a good job at a reasonable price.0
