Q 3.9) Do you have the use of a motor vehicle that you do not own?

You would give details in answer to that question.

  • Sorry cant advise but just wanted to wish you all the best. It really isn't as scary as you have in mind. I went to court Thursday and although still on the emotional roller coaster it still wasn't as horrific as I envisaged.

    Good luck x

Try not to be worried.. when I look back on things, yes, I've had my fair share of anxieties over the past year of bankruptcy, but I still look back on this time last year as such a relieving time. My memory of walking out the court and back to my car almost a year ago after being declared BR is a happy one, it marked, and still marks, the end of some terrible things.

Ever since, the stressors I've experienced have not felt hostile (like the DCA and creditor calls and letters did) - not felt out of control, not felt aggressive, unreasonable, degrading or threatening.

At times the roles of the OR have left me feeling powerless, but I think handing over that power by petitioning BR is perhaps part of the relief, even if at times it felt like I had less control than the average adult is used to. The way I was dealt with by the courts right from booking the appointment on the phone, to meeting the clerk, to speaking to the judge, then to how the OR and IS in general dealt with me, was absolutely superb. The Insolvency Service are there to ensure the creditors behave and leave you alone too, they are just a neutral party that takes care of the neccessary business in the utmost professional manner and with tight adherence to protocol and common decency.

This is my experience, anyway, and one I've found many have agreed with. Try not to worry too much..

All the best, keep support around you, talk to people if youre worried, seek advice here, or from the free advice services if things do concern you along the way.

Keep the positives and a debt free future in mind :)

All the very best, ad x
