has anyone ever done mason meal in a jar

Options
I have just seen a page on facebook about a cookbook in with some meals in jars ideas. Now, apparently this book isn't great but it looks like some people do make these up with success. Has anyone here ever done it? I see some recipes use freeze dried vegetables. At the moment I am confused between wet canning and other american terminology!
