Any tips on how to deal with the csa

I have been divorced for 10 years, we have 2 children. For the best part of the first 7 of years my ex lived off benefits. And 7 years ago he had another child with who is now also a former partner of his.
I've tried through out the past 10 years to obtain maintance for our kids, with no success at all. Then 3 years ago I received a letter advising that I would soon start receiving 2/3rds of £2.50 pw.:rotfl:
Telephone call to the csa advised me that his other x with the kiddy had applied and the application had been successfull. (she didn't apply she's on income suport so they got it sorted)
A few months later he started working and I got another letter telling me that my payments were going to increase.
I rang and asked the csa what payments, I hadn't received anything, they just told me that they would get back to me.
A few months later, and the next letter states that he had appealed and against their desion that my payments would continue until the date of the appeal where they may well change. So I phone to tell them that I still wasn't getting anything. It fell on deaf ears
Next letter and appeal was complete. I asked when I would start recieving something, and was told that it would depend on when he got paid. so either the following week or at the end of the month.
I waited and waited then phoned 6 wks later, to be told that he had changed his job and that they didn't know where he was working. 2 months later I rang again and was told he was back on benefits and that they didn't know who my new caseworker was, so they couldnt advise me futher, but that I would be contacted within a week. I wasn't, I rang again, and was told that I had been alocated to a team but I still hadn't been alocated a caseworker. Another week passed and I contacted them again, I was advised that I needed to speak to the team leader but she was in a meeting and would call me back. 6 weeks later I received a call, and was asked to confirm my name contact details childrens names and dob's. I asked who was my caseworker but the agent on the end of the line said that she didn't know and had only been told to get replies to her questions.
That was about 3 months ago I've heard nothing since.
Can anybody tell me what I can do to get somewhere. My kids will soon be young adults And the longer this goes on the less time he has to pay at all:mad:

Yes, you ring up and ask if he's still on benefits. If he's on income support or jsa then you need to speak to the people who deal with "contributions to maintenance". They do exist, however hard they may be to track down.

If he's on incapacity benefit, then the case will have to go to enforcement as there is no other means of getting your payments off him.
