My advice would be to write to Moorcroft firstly stating that you do not acknowledge any debt, and ask them for proof.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Can I get some clarification on the letter?
At the top it states...
Moorcroft Ref: 0123456789
Client Ref: 0123456789
Client: Bank of SoAndSo
To me this would mean they are acting on behalf of the Bank of SoAndSo, do they do that or do they simply buy the debt from the Bank of SoAndSo and if so would the above be misrepresentintation?
Moorcroft will be acting on behalf of their client. If they had bought the debt you would normally relieve a letter from the original creditor assigning the debt to someone else along with a letter from the new owner in the same envelope

To be honest I'd do the same. The only time to take these monkeys seriously is when/if you receive a summons.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Just write to moocroft asking for proof of the debt, if you ignore it you could find yourself with a summons and that is a different kettle of fish to fight.
Play the game, the letter merry go round, and you will be ok.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

If Moorcroft are acting for the bank then they have a duty to pass the request and £1 on to them.Still rolling rolling rolling......
