Also got 3 punnets of organic strawberries, 2 packs of sliced melon, 8 fairtrade lemons and 4 huge packs of fruit salad for the grand total of £3.20....can't resist a bargain
Anyway I'll be using some of them to make muffins but what can I do with the rest? Can they be frozen in their raw state and what would they be like defrosted?
Thanks for any help otherwise we'll be eating blueberries with everything for the next few days :rotfl:
I did the same at Morrison's. Couldn't believe my luck. Blueberries are one of the Super Foods. I wouldn't use them for jam but what I did do was to boil them for a short time with not too much sugar and freeze them to use with ice cream or plain yoghurt.0 -
American pancakes:
300ml milk
2 large eggs
225g plain flour
1 tbsp baking powder
30g melted butter
pinch salt
tsp sugar
Whisk it all together, leave 20 mins. melt butter in frying pan til hot, spoon in in pancakes, sprinkle blueberries on top. When underside is golden brown, flip for a minute. Delicious - we had them this morning (bloody £1.20 for about 50g blueberries though!!)******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

I'm down to 6 punnets now after making muffins and grabbing a handful every time I open the fridge:smileyhea0 -

The blueberries I've grown in a tub are being frozen bit by bit as they become ripe. I'm hoping to have enought to make at least one batch of muffins, but do I need to defrost them before baking?0

I don't defrost mine before making muffins and haven't had any problems yet."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

I think if you defrost them they may go mushy! you can also make blueberry jam out of frozen blueberriesMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Hi all,
I ordered strawberries in my online shop and got blueberries instead, they've since been sat in my fridge looking at me as I can't think what to do with them. Nothing healthy anyway! :rotfl:
I follow SW and need to be good as I've been a bit naughty the last few days so can't put them in muffins or pies or anything. I also don't really like just eating them as they are
I would make them into a smoothie or something but I don't have any yogurt:(0 -
