Blueberries...

I bought the other week some frozen red berries and some blueberries.
Now with the frozen red berries, I will defrost and use to make a dessert with. I could do the same with the blueberries.
But bought them to make some blueberry muffins.
Now do I defrost them first or can I just chuck them in to the mix frozen. And anyone got any lovely recipes for muffins.
I am just off to goggle for some now.
If put the fruit in a jelly do I need to defrost them first or not.
Many thanks in advance.

I think in most muffin recipes you can use them from frozen.
I'm sure there must be blueberry muffins recipe on the recipe link. But you could try www.deliaonline.co.uk0 -
surely you mean Queen Delia or even Goddess Delia
Sorry Jamie/Nigella you can't hold a candle to her.

They make a nice ice cream, 2 bags of 500g in a saucepan with 300g cater sugar, simmer for 30 mins, then sieve into a bowl, cool, pour into dish and put in freezer for 2 hours, then mix in 1 large tub of marscapone cheese, freeze for a bit longer whisk again if required, lovely. The mascarpone gives it depth and the blueberries have a slightly dry aftertaste, not cloying like a lot of ice creams.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0

I've just been to Asda and bought 8 punnets of blueberries because they were reduced to 23p each :T.
Also got 3 punnets of organic strawberries, 2 packs of sliced melon, 8 fairtrade lemons and 4 huge packs of fruit salad for the grand total of £3.20....can't resist a bargain
Anyway I'll be using some of them to make muffins but what can I do with the rest? Can they be frozen in their raw state and what would they be like defrosted?
Thanks for any help otherwise we'll be eating blueberries with everything for the next few days :rotfl::smileyhea0 -
I'm just so envious!
They freeze very happily, and, mixed with blackberries, make a wonderful crumble.0 -
Blueberries are very good for you too, full of some 'super compound' or other, acorrding to Gillian McKeith. Lovely in muffins and pies.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Blueberry pancakes.
Not the typical thin flat ones, but the american ones.
Also not sure if you have any kids or their ages, but my toddler loves having different types of summer fruits put on to cocktail sticks and having fruit kebabs. Cocktail sticks not recommended for toddlers but so far my son has behaved with them, and is very careful!0 -
