halifax mortgage application

Hi,

This is my first post but always read the threads daily,I applied for a mortgage with Halifax but based on my current wages there is a short fall of 10k,Halifax said they would originally lend me 144k but now they have said 134k,

The question I was wondering is, I have a 3.5k pay rise that is paid and back dated to jan in march which based on my new pay would cover the short fall, the broker is quite confident that he could get is passed on my new pay with some supporting evidence, has anyone ever had any experience of this or could shed any light on it.

If you can get written evidence, it should be accepted. How much is the rise, you'll need at least £2k p/a, possibly more?

  • HI Thanks, for the reply, the pay rise is £3400 per year we get it backdated to jan so my March payslip will show the new amount and back pay to jan, we also get a letter stating the increase. fingers crossed they will accept it

The Halifax may write to your employer to confirm your new salary, so it would be worth letting your HR department aware that a letter may be received. They could fax a reply in response, to make it quicker
