The article is highly flawed.
Standard Life are consistently the worst priced annuity provider over the last decade. You dont measure the profit of a product type across an industry by the data of the worst priced provider.
If it is so profitable, then why are there so few annuity providers? Why have so many insurers pulled out of the market?plus even MSE recommends you go through an IFA as the best deals are reserved for them.
