Nationwide credit check error

Hi me and my girlfriend applied for our first mortgage through nationwide today. We used an independent financial advisor.

We passed the agreement in principle with no problems.

However I have identity protection/credit report facilities with my bank. I checked it this evening and they have made two credit searches on my account.

The first one is for a FIRST MORTGAGE and it states the amount of money we will be borrowing, my name, address etc. however they have checked it under my girlfriends date of birth.

The second check is just a generic identity search with my proper date of birth.

I'm worried now that it could cause problems with the full application. As it looks like they've done the Initial search, realised their mistake and carried out another one. Obviously multiple checks in a short space of time is detrimental to my credit rating.

Anyone had this before or can offer any advice?

Pretty sure the generic identity search is a soft search mate....same happened with me when I got my DIP processed.

(not with your girlfriends date of birth right enough!)

its normal. Same happend with me. One's a generic id check, the other is the full search - it should show the amount you are requesting to borrow too.

Yes it does show amount that I'm borrowing and the length of time I'm taking it over. It's just the fact The full search has my name with my girlfriends date of birth on it, that's worrying me.

My IFA doesn't seem to be worried about it. With this being our first ever mortgage application, I just don't want there to be any hiccups.
