18k in 18 months does sound outragous. Car finance was 7k, so getting rid of my beloved van helped even if it hurt (admit I shed a tear, I am a strange girl at times.:o) It was the programme about getting rid of your mortgage in 2 years that really got me going. Seeing what could be achieved when you put your mind to it. Extra work, Ebay, bootfairs, quidco, it all added up.
Thanks for all your comments, this place is fantastic. My next aim is to save towards my dream house...a farmhouse in Wales with holiday lets for an income. I have found that having a real goal in sight is the key, so lets get that Welsh phrase book out..."grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"

Well done, I'm very envious!! That's a fabulous achievement, enjoy NEW York, we have just come back and we loved it we bought a New York Pass and it gave us free entry into all the sights and museums - well worth the money. We managed to live very well on $150 a day for 5 of us and that included all our travel and eating out and souvenirs. You'll have great time!!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0
