Asda - reduced to clear pasta

Selection of napolina and asda own brand dried pasta reduced to clear in Asda Hamilton tonight. Ranged from 35p to 75p and included napolina fusili 50p, tagliolini 75p, rigatoni, asda conchiglie, orzo, ditali, stelline and more I cannot recall.

I got 1kg of whole wheat pasta twists for 35p yesterday at Asda Gosforth. They had stacks of othe 500g packs for the same price.

As above asda wholewheat 25p 1kg, white farfalle 500g 25p, Asda Canford Heath. End of aisle. Also had fusilli 250g which I think was 25p.

Was in asda Aberdeen earlier and got 1kg bags of whole wheat pasta for 35p a bag, bought enough to last us a year! These bags were te same price as the 500g bags as well x

In store Asda have a variety of dried pasta's at only 25p a bag! I got 1kg wholewheat fusili, wholewheat spaghetti, Linguine (not wholewheat) etc all 25p. There were others at 25p but i couldn't remember them all. There were other more unusual varieties at 50p and 75p. I asked a staff member why and it is because of a packaging change. All well in date.:j Can't find deal online.

Took advantage of this last Friday, however just the 500g bags in the store. Bought 6 bags! .

Question I'd ask is why they clearing all this pasta?

Erm, the post above yours mentioned a change of packaging.

However, that's usually the reason for stuff disappearing from the shelves for a week or so, as they sell all the old stuff and then have to wait for the new stuff.

Napolina pasta was on a 50p special offer a while ago, so I suspect that they may have more left over than they planned.

Whatever the real reason, I'll look out for some on my next visit. If I can, I'll get some for my partner, Lynne. She can't say that I don't buy her flours.
