Experian and duplicate default

Hello, I hope you can help me with this.
I've got a default for an old Halifax account which has now been sold to 1st Credit. I now have one settled default for Halifax and an unsettled default with 1st Credit.
Having searched the forums, I came across the following thread: forums .moneysavingexpert. com/showthread.php?t=3937201
I then wrote to Experian to remove the duplicate default but they are refusing it as they say the Halifax default is now settled. But on the above thread it says that if the debt is bought by a credit sharing company then the original should be removed. Experian just keep repeating themselves every time I write to them and I am getting no where.
Can you please advise what the next steps with this would be? I want to complain to get this resolved but don't know who to. Any advice you can give be would be brilliant.
Thank you in advance.

Just bumping this and hoping somebody can help me please.
Also, thought I would mention that I have wrote to Halifax and 1st Credit and both have replied they will not remove it. It's just the Experian representative from the thread quoted in previous post had said only one should be on there.
If all three: lender; DCA; and CRA won't remove one entry, who do I complain too? Is it the OFT or the Ombudsman?
Thanks again and sorry for the shameless bump. Just would like some advice.0 -
The Experian rep on that thread was right. Halifax one has to be removed.
Complain again to Halifax and Experian saying that you will take the matter to the FOS and ICO if they don't remove it.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

Thank you Rizla for your reply.
I've been talking to Experian for the past 4 months about this and get the same reply copied and pasted back, so annoying. I pay the full amount of 14.99 to get these services but receive no help they've been very frustrating.
As I've had about 4 final responses from them all, saying they won't remove it, I'm going to complain straightaway instead of contacting them again.
I just wasn't sure who to complain to but thank you very much for letting me know. God knows why I thought it was OFT?!
Thank you again for your reply (and sorry for late response, typical three year old demanding attention as soon as I get a reply!).0
