CGU Mortgage Endowment Promise 2000

In 1987 I took out an Endowment with CGU for £43,700. In 2000 CGU issued their mortgage endowment promise and said it applied to all of their endowment policies. My policy has natured with a hefty 20% shortfall and Aviva have said that the policy does not qualify for the promise because it was on target to pay off the full amount in 2000. Has anyone else had a similar experience / able to offer advice?

The promise was based on the mid rate projection shortfall in 2000. If you had no shortfall at that time then you got £0 MEP.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such.
