                    Hey guys!
Just a quick question.
I ended my JSA claim successfully earlier this week, via telephone. The guy was nice and helpful, just took a few details and said my claim was now ended.
This morning however, I recieved an automated text message, reminding me of an appointment I had on Monday morning (11th)
I've tried ringing the number given on the letter, but it kept saying the phone line was busy so I left a message giving all my details, and explaining my claim has already ended; therefore the appointment no longer valid.
Have they not got it on their system that I have cancelled my claim, or is this just a delayed/automated system message?..
Thanks!

Automated text message? What they spend money reminding you to go to JSA these days?
If you don't turn up they will end it anyway.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0

Pretty stupid isn't it? But yeah after already sending a letter lastw week for the appointment, I got a text message too!
I just wanted to make sure my claim was ended properly, so they didn't think I just couldn't be bothered to turn up. Only when our eyes have seen darkness, can we truly appreciate the light...:A0 Only when our eyes have seen darkness, can we truly appreciate the light...:A0

I wouldn't worry about it. You have signed off now so let that be the end of it. They will get the message when you don't go back. I am actually surprised with their persistence of them chasing you up to go and see them. Usually job center encourage jobseekers to come off their books so as to get the figures down.0

Most Job Centres have a few people whose job it is to text reminders of interviews.
Sometimes when claims are closed, any 'outstanding' interviews are not automatically cancelled on the system. Suspect the 'texter' didn't notice the claim's status had changed.Fokking Fokk!0

Be careful, Be very careful! If you read my thread about civil penalties. The benefit agency are telling me that I failed to notify them of a change of circumstances even though I have loads of evidence including records of conversation given to me by the job centre but because they " say" they didn't receive the info they applied a £50 civil penalty on me !!!Illusive_89 wrote: »

 Frustration isn't the word !!!
Record everything, names. dates. times, ask for receipts off everyone and ask for confirmation of all phone calls to be logged. This was my first experience of unemployment since leaving school over 30 years ago. In future I would rather lick the muck off the queens shoes for minimum wage then claim benefits again0
