Endowment payout help

Hi,

My mum recently passed away and it turns out that the death certificate is going to say she died from hypothermia whilst intoxicated. Is this going to effect the payout of the endowment policy?

Thanks

No. Life assurance is not predicated on a particular cause of death. Older plans may have had a suicide exclusion, or something may have been excluded following medical underwriting because it was revealed at point of effecting the cover, such as a medical condition.

I've never seen anything in a life policy which would suggest the cause of death was an issue to you.
