when can a divorcee draw pension share?

just wondered...
A retired civil service friend, divorced some ten years now, is in receipt of his pension. His younger (early to mid-fifties) ex-wife received a % of his pension as part of the divorce settlement. Self-employed, her business has been hit by the economic downturn. Is she now able to claim her share of the pension, despite her relative youth?

Seems unlikely but she should check with the scheme managers. Her pension projection would be based on her normal retirement date and she'd face very severe reductions if she was able to take any income at such a young age.
You might consider editing the title (edit, then click on the advanced button) and changing the title to include civil service pension and which of the versions it is, if known. That'll help to attract the attention of those who know the rules for the civil service pensions.0 -
