Mortgage application

Morning all,
This is my fist post so go easy. I have had a look round but can find any information.
I have applied for a mortgage to buy my first house, unfortunately just days after my application , I have lost my job (contract not renewed at end of probation period (monday this week)). I have had a couple of interviews already this week which one felt very positive.
What I want to know is what can I do??!?! The house I have an offer on is the only one that fits my needs and was put up of sale at a very competitive price to encourage a quick sale, I really dont want to lose the house but not sure as what I can do as I'm not in a position now to prove I am working.
If it helps I have a £20k deposit which was key in me affording the mortgage.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Nothing you can do, I'm afraid.
You need to inform the selling agent and your lender and suspend any further expenditure as it could end up being wasted.
Some lenders will accept an application when you have a written offer and a start date, so you may not have to wait too long once you get something else.I am a mortgage broker.
