P45 Question

Hello all,

I was made redundant at the end of january,iv recieved my p45,i will be heading to the jobcentre to claim jsa next week as my final wages and redundancy money have pretty much gone,my problem is that the end date on my p45 is 10 days later than when i actually finished my job, they will obviously ask me when my job ended and see it does not match the end date on my p45,should i be concerned?

Thanks

well the end date should be the date you left but they will write to them to confirm this. You will have a redundancy letter to give them too that must show the date, no?

No i have no letter at all and obviously only a payslip from january, dont think it will matter too much as the jc would expect me to live on my final wage and redundancy money and my claim will prob only start from the day i walk in there and not be back dated to the end of january, just dont want to cause any trouble if there is any to be caused, thanks

You're right in that they don't backdate claims. I don't think you get anything for the first 3 days after starting a claim either.

Don't worry about the Job Centre, get in there and put your claim in. I would have done it the day after I was made redundant.
