I came on here when I was planning my May 2012 wedding so not quite a 1 year anniversary yet but almost there.
I am curious as to how people have found their first year of marriage?
My husband and I have had a fabulous year together, we were so in love when we married but it seems to just get stronger by the day. I am an older bride (47) so we aren't planning kids etc and obviously not in the first flush of youth but it hasn't mattered at all to us that we found each other later than is considered normal.
How has your first year gone so far?

Got to agree with Mrs Drink in some respects after 9 years together. But having had a very bad ending to my previous marriage it does make me realise what i've got this time. And it's also brought his kids closer to me which is great; my boys have always been really close to DH as he's lived with us for so long but there always seemed more distance with me and his. But having his daughter as my BM and with me now being officially stepmum seems to have taken it a step forward0

I think that was the same with my DD and her Step Mum. They always 'kinda' got on, but once married they are both now just so much more closer and she is more of a 'mum' than 'step-mum' to my DD.
I think we'll be very much like MrsD too, but we've also been together a long time - I'll let you know :rotfl:Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
We've had many ups and downs.
4 months after our Wedding we bought our first home together, got the 2 kittens we had been talking about for the past 4 years and my husbands son moved in permantly with us.
Then after 6 months I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. 6 months on I've had the all clear and now we're focussing on building my strength back up and putting all the weight I've lost back on.
It's definately made us stronger and appreciate life and each other more. We now intend to live life to the full and not just coast along.
But its been great!!!Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0
