Lloyds *##@* up

Hi all,

I dont know if this is the correct place for this and I apologise if its not.

I was approved a mortgage through lloyds last thursday and told the offer was being sent to me that day. Yesterday, having not received anything I emailed the lady who has been dealing with the processing saying i'd not received anything, was.this delay usual... She replied 'you should have heard by now. It was sent thursday to 15 evergreen walk? This is your address?'

No no no this is not my address. I know they have the correct address because I have been receiving letters from lloyds regarding referrals for home insurance etc.

Since this, yesterday, I have sent four emails asking her to call me and heard nothing. I eventually this afternoon spoke the the guy who originally did my application. He looked.into it and has said there can be no excuses and I while their looking into it, its been referred to the complaints team and I should consider what compensation would satisfy me.

Im concerned that this person who has received the documents now knows all the details of my mortgage which makes me feel wierd and also my new address, solicitors details etc. There is also an issue concerning my payslips, I had to send the originals to lloyds as proof of income and when I didnt receive them I assumed they were just abit slow to send things back. Im worried these have also been sent to the wrong address and this is worrying as these contain my ni number, details of salary etc.

Im at my wits end, I dont know what to do, who to speak to... Do I need to inform anyone that my ni number maybe in the wrong hands? How do I decide what compensation is satisfactory? Knowing someone has my address though there many many many miles away is a.horrible thought!!?? :(

I'd imagine that most people receiving someone else's mortgage documents would just return them to the sender. The recipient may have opened the letter in error (or out of curiosity) but it's very unlikely that they are going to do anything with the information.

If things were reversed and you received someone else's documents, would you now be running amok with their NI number?

I would be asking Lloyds to contact the actual recipient to request return of the documents. I'd also want them to clarify where the payslips are.

Compensation might depend on whether you need to get new copies of any documents plus an appropriate amount for inconvenience
