Well most of my wardrobe and house!

This week I pulled the sole off my work boots, so the sole now flaps around at the back, my other pair have started to come apart around the toes and it was a bit soggy in the rain today. My ballet pumps have split at the heel, to top it all, just noticed my leggings have split at the seam on the inside leg!

The kettle is spluttering water when it boils and the base seems to be covered in water. The veg steamer did the same and I had to chuck it away. The combi oven part of the microwave isn't working (but the microwave it is). The main oven seal is coming away and there are 'cold spots' in it. The white plastic shiny veener on the kitchen cupboard is peeling. The laminate flooring seems to be developing gaps. The double glazing seal has broken so it is all steamed up inside on the front window. The security light blew on sunday.

that my tale of woe. Admittidley some of this stuff is old, but why does it all goes at the same time!!!!! Although I know in the scheme of things I am very very lucky!!!!

The usual saying is everything in three's.
I keep saying we live a bumpy road. Life is full of ups and downs.
Sounds like you are having a down, just need to climb up again and the outlook will become more positive.
    Take care.

I think appliances hold monthly meetings - and suspecting finances are low, any expensive appliance whose guarantee has run out then commits hari kari! and they get bonus points if three or more can die in less than a month.
On the bright side - we then get to buy more efficient appliances so saving on leccy or whatever!

So frustrating, somehow it does always seem to happen all at once, doesn't it? Hopefully something nice will come along soon to balance it all out...

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • There is a trick to clear double glazing just drill a tiny hole in each corner in the bottom of the frame and fill the holes with insulation to stop bugs getting in, it has worked for FIL
A kettle will cost £5 - £6 and the door seal on the oven can be replaced easily, just look online for the make and model number or go to a local electrical shop. I know because I have replaced mine in the past.
We have all had this sort of thing happen to us and it always when you are skint, but it will come right in the end honestly

I had to have a good look about just then, I thought you were in my house. Sure sounds like it.

This sounds like a really rough week! I'm pretty sure those monthly meetings between appliances do happen. They also like to wait until things are going wrong at work or there is a family crisis or life is otherwise difficult.

Could you look into having your work boots re-soled? It may not be worth it on the ballet flats, depending on the quality but probably is on the work boots--if it won't compromise safety!

It's because it's coming up to spring, the days are getting longer and brighter and you tend to notice things more. There's a trick to nullifying this effect though. Don't clean your windows.
