I had alterations done by Patricia Eastwood a while ago and was very happy with the quality. I know she also designs and makes formal and wedding dresses. I can't find her number but I'm pretty sure if you search the forum there has been a post before with her contact details etc.
She was based in a street just off the Lisburn road with off road parking.

Would you not be better losing a few stone? some of those big wemen dresses looks like a four man tent going up the aisle
  • Absoluteutopia who said anything about size? If someone chooses to have a dress made that's their decision.

I'm unsure what your point is. People of all shapes and sizes have dresses made. Means it is a unique dress and you can get exactly what you want.

thanks for the completely pointless response, as others have pointed out I want something unique, I have seen plenty of big/small dresses in bridal shops so it has f@$! all to do with getting one made.

I could travel, provided it isn't in the middle of nowhere as it would be bus/train.

Do you already have a pattern/design or do you want a dress designed? Do you have a budget in mind. I know of a couple of good seamstresses who will make you up a dress if you have a pattern.
