The Barnes and Noble NOOK HD is one of best-selling tablets on the market behind the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Apple iPad range. It is also on sale, via an online retailer called Cheapest Electrical, on eBay for only £100.
That’s a 37 per cent off the device’s suggested retail price and that comes with free delivery and 100 Nectar points.
The device is refurbished but comes with a one-year warranty. This model has a 1,440 x 900 pixels resolution, the highest of any 7in tablets on the market (which usually stop at 1,280 x 800 pixels). It is powered by a dual-core TI OMAP4470, a SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, with a PowerVR SGX543 GPU solution.
Other features include Wi-Fi, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a weight of 315g and a number of applications such as NOOK Scrapbook and NOOK video.

Not a bad tablet , great screen, dual core but it has a proprietary power cable and the B&N version of android is somewhat limited but can be improved with Nova launcher.
The HD+ is a better buy at £129 for the 16Gb version at Asda and John Lewis if you want a no quibble 2 year guarantee.

We have a nook bought by my 9 year old son, it is the one with the backlit screen, after a couple of weeks it developed what looked like a few holes/spots of bright light on the screen, we returned it at a great deal of inconvenience and received the next one, within a couple of weeks the same problem, we fought with the customer services, who are only via email at this point, and no refund just replacement, eventually we conceded, and guess what has happened to the third..... rubbish and now retailing for much less than the £60 our son spent.0

The HD+ is a bigger version than the HD not exactly pocket size like the HD. I must say l needed a small 7inch tablet and i spent quite a time looking round tried them all but i kept coming back to the Nook HD. The 8GB had sold out so i bought the 16GB for £99. It's as light a as a feather ok slight exaggeration but the screen is a beauty and the total access to the Google play store makes a pretty good buy. I don't have a problem with the layout in fact having tried a previous android tablet this makes perfect sense. The browser speed is fast and i like the email. All the big apps are there just like on my iPad and I think this will actually get me to read a few books as well.0
