Barnstaple....Brian Fords
Options
A great store for buying bulk sizes of dried onions, tomato sauce, white vinegar, bicarb, flour, dried fruit, catering sizes and stuff etc.
Got to sift through the iffy brands but there are loads of bargains to be had there. :money:

I second that! They do have some rubbish but also some brilliant offers.
BJ's round the corner is great for garden stuff. I don't have the room to grow loads of seedlings so I just buy what I need from here. I now have courgettes, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce and bedding plants brightening the garden up and it was really cheap compared with anywhere else.0 -
Regrettably, I have hust read that Brian Fords, is selling out to Tescos!
When we had our Holiday Home in Ilfracombe, we got nearly all our Shopping there. And it will be a sad day for the People of North Devon!0 -
Well, I have just heard from my friend that this store is closing on 18/6/2010. I will be in that store for the last time on 11/06/10. What memories it brings back to our family, good; cheaper food etc, and friendly ppl. It will soon be knocked down, and Tesco built in its place, IMHO; Barnstaple will never be the same!
History, prior to Brian Fords was BR locoshed, which housed locos until early 60s, which worked trains such as the Atlantic Coast Express, from Ilfracombe/Bideford to London Waterloo; end of ye another era:mad::(0
