Extending mortgage offer with Chelsea BS

So it doesn't look like our new build will be completed before our mortgage offer expires. I am considering asking the chelsea to extend the offer. Has anyone attempted this with them, or offer any advise on how to tackle?

It should be just a simple request to the lender asking for the offer to be extended. Most are very flexible when it comes to new build properties and sometimes the only issues would be whether the valuation is still within date ie 3-6 months of when it was completed, and indeed if they are still able to offer that product.
With regards to the product, I would say things have only improved over the last 10 weeks so they may in effect offer you a better package.

This was posted on HBR&S this morning and I suggested the solicitor contacting the lender and asking them, based on the likely completion date for the property.I am a mortgage broker.
