Debt Collection Agency - CCJ

Duk

Hi,
I am currently ill undergoing treatment and have not been at work for 9 months. due to being ill I have not been getting paid well (only 20% my wage and SSP)
Yesterday I received a letter from IQOR saying that they are taking out a CCJ on me for the debt of £17 (ebay fees). At the time I am unable to pay until the end of the month.
What is the chances of them taking out a CCJ for this amount? I have explained I cant pay it but they are having none of it.
For such a small amount having a CCJ will cause me to lose my job and it is really worrying me..

They would have to take you to court to get a CCJ (County Court Judgement)
Can you not rake up £17 from somewhere, sell something, pawn something, local auction which usually brings a fast result. Seems a shame for such a small amount. Your credit will be trashed for 6 years if it goes ahead.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
can you not borrow £17 from someone? it seems such a small amount to be causing so much trouble....Mortgage-Free WannabeMortgage at start [20/6/12]: £151,800/MFD Jun 2035 (age 65)Mortgage now [5/11/14]: £139,212.14/MFD Oct 2029 (age 59)Personal Library 2014:starmod: Read in 2014: 57/60 :starmod: In Progress: 2 :starmod: Books In: 94 :starmod: Books Out: 12 :starmod: TBR: 847 :starmod:0

It would cost them more than £17 to get a CCJ against you and more again to enforce it, so I think it's unlikely to be more than a threat.0

Thanks for your replies.
Its not just about the £17, I am over my "agreed" overdraft limit of 0 by £58. so someone would need to lend me £75 to pay off this £17 debt.
I called them and said can I pay with a different debit card (my mums kindly offered) and their response way no, they will only accept my debit card, not even postal order.
I'm willing to pay, they are making it awkward for me to do so.
Any other suggestions?0 -

There are are whole load of stages before this gets registered as a ccj.
I'm not going to bother listing them as this is not even going to stage 1 (a blue court claim form from Northampton court giving you 14 days (extend it to 28) to respond)!
Don't let their threats get to you. If you can make the payments in instalments over the next few weeks, you'll be fine.0 -

Any other suggestions?
Write a letter stating that you have offered £17 by postal order and by another person's debit card, which has been refused. Tell them that your debit card is no longer available but the previous offer remains open. Get proof of posting from the post office ad keep a copy. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
