Did Bank of Ireland do much worse than they're letting on?

Hi,
I've had a mortgage with Bank of Ireland for 5 years. 2 years ago I got made redundant and I went a year without being able to make any payments. Fortunately, this built up in arrears and I got to keep my house.
A year ago, BOI started a court case to retrieve those arrears but in the process, they leaked court details to my ex step dad. This resulted in him appearing at the court case, barging in while the court was in progress and ultimately, he got escorted out of court by the police.
I have since put a complaint in to BOI for exposing the details of the court case to my ex step dad and they have replied by offering £1000 off the mortgage. This pays off the remaining arrears and leaves me in credit.
Should I settle with what they are offering or is there any better actions I could take?
From what I understand they didn't leak any of the mortgage details, only the court case details.
Regards, Stephen

Out of court settlements are normally made attractive enough to be acceptable. If you were to decline then the actual settlement could be lower and you would be responsible for your own costs. Your call..........0
