Putting a hold on bank charges?

Hi

Is there a way to stop my bank charging me fees and interest on my overdraft, can I ask them to put a hold on charges for a while?

They keep adding more and more charges which means I can't reduce the overdraft as any money going in is taken out in charges.

You can try, but they are under no obligation to do so unfortunately.

How about posting an SOA on here and we'll take a look and see if there is any thing else you can do to get ahead of this, there's usually more than one way to skin a cat.

Which bank are you with ?
Lloyds do something called Controll which, although costs £10 a month its meant to cap the fees they can charge.

Your best bet is to go in and see a manager, they will be able to discuss the situation with you and try and help.
My wife did this and although the manager couldnt do anything herself she called the banks collection department on my wifes behalf and exlpained everything.
I think it looks better if you take the time and go and see them, it shows that you are serious about taking controll

If you have Barclays 'reserve facility' which costs £22 for every Five days that you use it then cancel this, the bank charges work out cheaper.
