Won but have to pay P&P??

I am still very green about comping so I thought I would check this out here..
I was working through the weekly competitions, and entered one for Oasis (I think it was) it was something about pulling petals off a flower..next thing I was told I had won a heart patterned jumper and to go to the check out which I did the £35.00 price of the jumper was removed when I entered the code but there was still a £3.95 P&P charge
Do folks normally pay P&P on a prize win?
It does not seem right and as we all know if it is too good to be true it is usually a con
Have I got my hopes up for nothing?
Should I just delete/ignore the winning email?

You need to read the terms and conditions of each competition carefully. Most won't ask for P&P but ere was one recently for olympic merchandie where the T&C stated winrs would have to pay P&P
Don't know which comp it is so not much help but depends how much you want the jumper. If it's something you would ray like then see it as a bonus that you aregettin it for £3.95 not £38.95£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

Hi Mansey, I posted the Oasis comp. Congrats on your win and sorry about the confusion with the P&P, I have never come across that before with a comp but thanks Charliebear for helping out with the code - really kind of you to do that

Hopefully if we get any more winners we can help them out with free delivery codes too (and I'll try and make sure I read the T&Cs a bit more closely and put a note too let people know about this type of thing when posting comps in future!)Thank you to all who post comps and good luck to all who enter :j0 -
I won £50 worth of clothing from a different company a few years ago but when they emailed me the voucher it said that it didn't include postage & packaging. I argued that it didn't state that P&P wasn't include in their original terms and conditions and that as it was a competition I didn't expect to have to pay to receive my prize. They eventually agreed to send me the items I chose for free so always worth checking terms and conditions as they can actually benefit you sometimes
