bankruptcy question for you

Hi all.going br soon..i have an outstanding bill from my accountants of £360 for last years tax return they did. i want to pay them before i go br.......if i send them a cheque or use a cc cheque how will the or view this ?, is it classed as a necessary payment ?, hope you wise owls on here have an answer or opinion on this, many thanks.

    heya!

    Welcome to the board.

    Now the bad bit. I don't think this payment will be allowed by the OR, as you are giving your accountants preferential treatment over your other creditors. If you do proceed with the payment, the OR will probably reverse the payment, or make your accountants give the money back.

    Sad news, I know. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

    i agree with neko on this one as any recent transactions will be looked into by the OR and if you make this payment it will be seen as favouring creditors and the tranaction will be reversed

    Thanks guys.....you have basically clarified what i was thinking anyway, what is the best way to deal with my accountants, shall i just ignore or notify them of the situation ?.

    personally i would not tell any creditors of your impending Bankruptcy as they tend not to take any notice
