£300 Asus K55A Laptop: a notebook with 1TB HDD

Argos has slashed the price of the Asus K55A laptop from £350 to £300, which is a rather enticing price given the hardware specification of this device, which comes in white, pink, red or black colour schemes.
It runs on an Intel Celeron B830, a dual-core part which should be similar, performancewise, to first generation entry level Core processors. There’s 6GB of RAM, Windows 8 and a massive 1TB hard disk drive as well.
To our knowledge this is one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest, laptop on the market with a 1TB hard disk drive.
Other features include an island-style keyboard, a webcam, shared Intel graphics, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 pixel display, a DVD writer, a card reader, three USB ports, a HDMI and an Ethernet one and Bluetooth.
As expected, it is as far from a so-called thin-and-light laptop as it can be. It weighs a massive 3.2Kg and is 25.5mm thick. Argos also sells a cheaper model with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard disk drive for £20 less.
The high street retailer is also selling a one-year subscription to microsoft Office 365 for £60 when purchased with this laptop.
